The main asset of Bodega Solar de Samaniego is its vineyards, some of which are over 35 years old. They are spread across plots of varying sizes in the area around Laguardia in the heart of the Rioja Alavesa region.
We mainly grow the Tempranillo variety and, in smaller proportions, the local varieties of Graciano and Maturana used to make our most premium wines. The vineyards include the estate of La Escobosa, a large vineyard that takes its name from and once belonged to the famous writer Felix María de Samaniego in the 18th century.
Bodegas Durón also has large vineyards in the vicinity of the winery between the municipalities of Roa and La Horra. The main variety is the Tinta del País, but we also have minority varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
