SCORE SCALE FOR CARDIOVASCULAR RISK
The SCORE scale makes it possible to estimate the 10-year risk of the first lethal atherosclerotic complication (acute myocardial infarction, cerebrovascular accident, peripheral arterial complication or sudden death) based on the following risk factors: age, sex, smoking, systolic blood pressure and total cholesterol. Different tables are available for the European regions of high and low risk and, of course, for both sexes; there are also adaptations for different countries, including Spain.
CONTROVERSIES AND COMORBIDITIES IN HYPERTENSION
There are several controversies arising from the high morbidity and mortality suffered by patients with hypertension. In this review, we discuss the main one today, which is to mark the target blood pressure for the population suffering from hypertension. Accordingly, we address other controversies, such as the modification of the prognosis of these patients, the best therapeutic option, the need for a correct diagnosis and the necessary individualisation of each case.

NEW GUIDELINES FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF DYSLIPIDEMIAS
The new guidelines for the management of dyslipidemias issued by the European Society of Cardiology are a milestone with regard to the importance they give to a significant reduction in LDL cholesterol levels.
From a practical point of view, their main messages can be summed up in three questions (WHAT? WHY? HOW?) and their respective answers.
IMPLICACIONES CARDIOVASCULARES DEL SARS-COV2
In this paper, Dr Prieto Merino explains the implications and cardiovascular complications of SARS-COV2 and the medications used to treat it.
This book will also show how it has affected patients with underlying conditions, as well as patients who, despite not having contracted the disease, have been forced into lockdown.
